This policy explains what almanacofcryptids.com (the "Site"), run by Gancanagh LLC, collects and why. We collect as little as we can.
Reading the Site
You can read the Site without an account. Our host (Hostinger) keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, pages requested and browser type, for security and troubleshooting. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts; when fonts load, Google receives your IP address under Google's privacy policy.
Visitor statistics
We use Google Analytics, through Google's Site Kit plugin, to count visits and see which pages people read. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. We use it only in summary form and do not use it to identify you. You can block it with your browser's cookie settings or Google's opt-out add-on.
Sending us a sighting report
If you use the report form, we receive what you type (date, time of day, state, nearest town or landmark, what you think you saw and your story), any photo you attach, the name you choose to be credited under and, if you give it, your email address. Your email is never shown on the Site; we use it only if we need to ask about your report. We re-save every photo, which removes hidden data such as GPS location and camera details. To stop spam, we keep a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address, not the address itself. Reports wait for review and appear on the Site only if approved; declined reports are deleted. You can ask us to delete your report and details at any time by emailing gancanaghllc@gmail.com.
If you email us, we keep your message and address only to reply and to keep a record of requests such as takedowns.
Ads and affiliate links
We do not run ads today. If we add advertising or affiliate programs, those partners may use cookies to show ads and credit referrals. We will update this policy before that happens and, where the law requires, ask for your consent.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete information we hold about you by emailing gancanaghllc@gmail.com. We will answer within 30 days.
